Lately we’ve been discussing online fillable forms, what they are and their various uses. Today I have a story to share about a local dentist who wanted to go paperless with his patient information forms.

You know the ones I’m talking about. Those endless forms that take forever to fill out, and even longer for the office staff to transfer and save in a fluid, useful, usable format?

My dentist client dreamed of making these forms more convenient for his staff to send out, for his new patients to fill out, and for those patients to submit back to the office. So that is exactly what we did. We took his existing forms, spruced them up a bit, then made them into fillable PDFs that are easy for his patients to navigate, fill out and send back using free Acrobat Reader software.

His staff is happy with the new online process and he’s already had positive feedback from patients.

Another thing that to note - when using PDF fillable forms as a type of questionnaire - that form data can be collected, merged and managed from those fillable fields using the more advanced Adobe Acrobat DC software, which can make evaluating and using the information gathered from those questionnaires more effective.

Another cool thing about fillable forms is that if a fillable form contains sensitive information, security can be applied to the form to keep that information safe. Cool, huh?
