After a Covid hiatus of two years, the 145th Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra commenced today in Odisha's Puri with thousands of devotees participating in the Jagannath Rath Yatra festivities.The annual Rath Yatra of the holy trinity- Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath is taking place with full public participation and will conclude next week on July 9.
Tight security has been put in place in Odisha's Puri for Jagannath Rath Yatra as thousands of devotees from all across the country gathered to see the holy chariots and seek the blessings of the almighty.
Meanwhile, the government will ensure all safety protocols are followed on the ground in order to curb Covid spread. Keeping in mind the crowds, the government has installed checkpoints to verify vaccination certificates at airports, railway stations, bus terminals and various other entry and exit points.
