There are two essential characteristics of successful Hardy Plants. They should be resilient enough to thrive through a typical British Winter, and also bring a spectacle in the garden throughout the colder months.
During the Spring & Summer we can add lots of colour with Annual plants. But, the Hardy Perenials are what I call the 'Backbone' of my garden, which are important for adding interest during the colder months.
Here are a few of my favourite plants that prove to be totally hardy for me and I enjoy using in my own garden, in South Wales, UK.
Enjoy, and hopefully you find some inspiration for what might work in your Tropical Garden.
