This video is a very basic (albeit long) how to tutorial on NDI, using NDI-OBS to send a video signal from once PC to another PC for streaming, removing NDI 5 runtime, instlaling NDI 6 runtime and installing the newest version of OBS-NDI now renamed DistroAV as an OBS plugin.

Be aware that this is highly dependent on the hardware in your PC as well as your network. This does not transfer over the internet, but will use bandwidth on your local network. It should work both wired and wirelessly, but you must ensure both PCs are on the same network.

If you have NDI 5 and OBS-NDI already installed it is highly recommended to remove OBS-NDI and NDI 5 runtime before installing the DistroAV plugin and NDI 6 runtime.


I made this video in hopes it helps my 2 favorite Vtuber sisters to incorporate their non-primary streaming PC into their streaming PC. This will allow them to send the gameplay or anything else being captured via OBS from the second PC (the Deer's) to the main first PC that is streaming (the Octopus's) to be added as a source window that can be added to any scene. You will likely find a bunch of different uses for it. It's super easy to use and very easy to install. ... But even if you are not them, I hope this assists you in utilizing this very useful technology.
