This dough makes a chewy and crispy delicious pizza crust! My go-to for pizza nights!!
Makes 2 medium sized pizzas.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Pizza Dough Ingredients:
1 pack instant yeast
1 1/2 TBSP Sugar
1 cup warm water + 1 TBSP
2 TBSP olive oil
1 tsp salt
3 cups bread flour
In a large bowl add warm water, yeast, and 1/2 TBSP of the sugar. Let sit for 7 minutes.
Once foamy and bubbly add flour, rest of sugar, salt and oil. Stir with a wooden spoon til it forms a cohesive ball. It shouldn't be sticking to the sides.
Turn out on a floured surface and knead for 7 minutes. Knead til smooth.
Pour 1 TBSP of olive oil into a large clean bowl. Spread with hands all over the bowl. Put the dough in the bowl and coat it really well in the oil.
Cover with a warm damp towel and let rise for 1 hr.
Once dough has doubled in size, gently press it down and turn out onto a floured surface. Cut dough in half, putting the other half aside. Spread out the dough into a circle using your hands. Flour a rolling pin and roll it into a medium sized pizza. Lightly lift up the ends and form a crust.
On a pizza pan lightly sprinkle cornmeal over the surface to prevent sticking.
Transfer dough onto pan and spread out evenly.
Using a fork lightly press holes all over the surface of the pizza. Repeat with the other half of the dough.
Pre-bake at 450 degrees for 3-4 minutes.
Philly Cheesesteak Topping:
4 Steak-umm frozen beef sheets
half sweet onion sliced
2 habernaro peppers sliced thin (seeds removed)
Mozzarella cheese 3/4 cup
5 slices provolone
Cook beef over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until no longer pink. Drain on a papertowel and let cool.
Garlic sauce:
1 garlic clove
1 TBSP butter
1 tsp flour
1/4 cup heavy cream
sprinkle of cheddar cheese
Add garlic and butter to saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 30 seconds til aromatic. Add flour and cook for 30 more seconds, whisking constantly. Add heavy cream and stir til thickened. Next, add cheddar cheese and stir to melt. Cool completely.
LAYERING:
On pre-baked crusts layer garlic sauce, mozzarella, provolone, beef, onions and habernaro. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top.
Bake at 450 degrees for 17 minutes. Pizza reheats great in the oven! Enjoy!!
