In this video I'm just trying out a few exercises variations that I haven't used in a long time, (well, aside from some log pressing last year when some friends came over to train with implements); I wanted to try to incorporate them into my minimalist training template.
To introduce some variety into my workouts today I tried a couple of sets of Zercher Squats, Bent Over Barbell Rows, and Log Clean & Press. I know the barbell row is a very common back exercise, but I haven't used it in years (usually perform T-Bar Row, single arm Dumbbell Row, Inverted Rows, or Cable Row variations).
I just recorded my first set of each for reference here, although this circuit felt like more of a cardiovascular challenge ... out of breath more than muscular fatigue. Likely due to the log clean and press, although Zercher Squats do make it difficult to breath deeply as well. I wasn't able to add much weight on my second set... it will take some time for me to get used to these movements, if I continue to use them. But I did enjoy the change... just wish I had more overhead space in my basement for my log press!
