Stories about the Vikings are all about blonde haired men with blue eyes ravaging the seas. Is this postulate true? A recent DNA study published in the journal Nature castes doubt on that view. Looking at DNA from the Bronze Age (2400 B.C.) to the Early Modern period (1600 A.D.), there is evidence of traits from Southern Europe and Asia. Not the expected homogeneous range.
Channel Dad Bryon Lape reads an article Sarah Wells on Inverse. The article covers the study and quotes from Eske Willerslev, lead author and director of The Lundbeck Foundation GeoGenetics Centre at the University of Copenhagen.
