A dozen or so more amazing but virtually unknown American painters culled from Rilla Jackman’s exhaustive 1925 history entitled ‘American Arts.’ In this video we just enjoy some pictures together with a few off-the-cuff observations. Includes Henry Siddons Mowbray, William Launt Palmer, Charles Sprague Pearce, Ernest L. Blumenschein and others mostly European trained and mostly from the middle to late 19th Century..

QUESTION: I was curious if you could talk about some of the artists that you think might get overlooked, for example I'm a big fan of William Merritt Chase, Mary Cassatt and Cecilia Beaux, but I feel you don't hear much about them (except maybe Mary Cassatt). I would be interested if you could bring to light some other strong artists that you believe have the right stuff.
