On Monday 28th August 2023, the DownsSteam Tourist Railway and Museum held a "Practice Operational Day" for the purposes of testing their ticketing, administration and operational processes that will be used when passenger services commence.

A couple of runs were conducted back and forth within their Yard before the exercise concluded. Following the Practice Exercise, steam locomotive C16 106 hauled the 3 stainless steel "SX" carriages out onto the mainline for a good shakedown and test run to Wyreema and return.
