Truro and other towns on the Outer Cape are home to over 70 species of edible wild plants, and at least a dozen edible mushrooms. Many of these species are more nutritious and/or flavorful than their cultivated counterparts. Join wild edibles enthusiast Russ Cohen, author of the book Wild Plants I Have Known…and Eaten, for a 90-minute slide show covering at least three dozen of the tastiest species this region has to offer. Plants to be covered include yummy native species like Sassafras, Shadbush, Beach Rose and the iconic Beach Plum, as well as equally yummy non-native species like Black Locust and Autumn Olive.
