THE JEEP WAGONEER
According to Mopar Insider's sources, the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer will offer a multitude of digital displays, from a 12-inch frameless dash infotainment screen to a digital instrument panel for the driver, to a separate front passenger's side infotainment screen, to a rear-seat entertainment system similar to what's in the Chrysler Pacifica. That's a lot of pixels, and that digital IP will reportedly be accompanied by an available head-up display.
But the real technological centerpiece will be the Level 3 autonomy capabilities, which will allow the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer to pilot itself on the highway with minimal human input, similar to Cadillac's Super Cruise system.
Perhaps most intriguing of all, however, is a plug-in-hybrid powertrain reportedly in the works for the Grand Wagoneer, affording the full-size utility vehicle about 30 miles of pure-electric range and earning it the same "4xe" nameplate as the upcoming Wrangler plug-in.
Of course, being on the cutting-edge doesn't come cheap, and the more expensive trim levels of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer could easily eclipse $100,000 with options - maybe more. That's a lot of coin, but given the Jeep brand's burgeoning popularity, we don't doubt that a certain sort of customer would be happy to pay it.
