Animated infographic on periodic fever syndromes - rare, long-term inflammatory diseases characterized by repeated bouts of fever in recognizable patterns. They are caused by gene mutations which affect certain proteins that subsequently cause inflammation. Symptoms can include rash, fever, abdominal pain and joint pain. Periodic fever syndromes can be difficult to diagnose and more research and investment is needed to help patients and their families, suffering from these rare diseases.
