Watch this banana plant grow from a small plant to the size of a tree in 5 months. The Grand Nain produces bananas that have the same taste as those found in grocery stores. That's because it is the same as the Chiquita brand of bananas.

I found the Grand Nain banana plant for sale on eBay for $9.99. I also purchased two other tropical plants the Alocasia Calidora and Colocasia Gigantea from the same seller for the same price plus shipping. All three are planted in my tropical garden.

My banana plant did not produce any bananas this year. But it did grow a few baby offshoots that I will propagate when they get bigger. I hope to propagate enough Grand Nain banana plants to have Chiquita bananas all summer long. The Grand Nain looks great in my tropical garden with it's large green leaves. I can't wait until I get to enjoy these tasty bananas from my Grand Nain.
