Many shops need to move from the Source Code Management they have been using for decades to a more recent version control system which is in most cases git. On this occations two different cultures collide. The programmers of the business application don't understand the "git people" and the "git people" often don't know how the programmers are working. I want to give a brief overview of both worlds in order to facilitate communication between the two parties.
