0:42 I think that the reason they got Jakob to come was so they could sacrifice him as well.
3:04 They didn't want him to find the cubes. They became enlightened by sacrificing Jakob, the cubes being sacrificed were not part of the plan. Caroline outsmarted them by getting Jakob to sacrifice the cubes, enlightening only him and Caroline, the family member's enlightenment came from Jakob and Caroline's deaths.
12:17 Nicholas is not trying to convert Jakob. Nicholas is actually trying to convince Jakob to let the family kill him so they can become enlightened. Jakob might've actually agreed, but Caroline volunteered to be sacrificed instead.
16:42 Caroline is telling Jakob to leave the island, not the other way around.
