Parsha Chukat – Intellect or Emunah in fulfilling commandments – Which is preferred?

This week’s Torah reading, in Israel, raises the question of whether or not it is preferable to understand the reason for a commandment before doing it, or to perform the commandment, simply because G-d commanded it, even though we don’t understand the reason. This short Torah lesson will discuss these concepts.
