Ingredients : 1.5kg Sour Cabbage
1.2 Pork Neck
3 Onions
3-4 Bay Leaves
100ml Cooking Oil
1tbsp Sweet Paprika
1tsp Dried Thyme
Salt
Black Pepper

Add cooking oil to a pan and add pork neck, salt and fry for 3-4 minutes until the meat is brown . Once the pork is fried , take it out of the pan and place in a bowl , then add onion into the cooking oil and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add the cabbage , dried thyme, bay leaves and 250ml of warm water. Put the lid on and let it all boil for 15-20 minutes on medium heat. Stir every now and then. After 20 minutes, the water should have reduced so add another 250ml of warm water, you can also add a little extra cooking oil if you prefer the cabbage to be a bit fattier, and then boil for another 15-20 minutes until the water has reduced completely and the cabbage starts to become slightly brown. Add black pepper , sweet paprika , the fried meat and salt if needed .Then cook the cabbage for 5 minutes and it's good to serve. We serve the cabbage with Romanian polenta ( mamaliga ), but you can also serve with bread. Enjoy !
