STORYLINE:
Supporters of Brazilian presidential candidate Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva braved the pouring rain on Friday to dance, sing and listen to his allies speak two days ahead of his runoff against incumbent President Jair Bolsonaro.
Brazilians will choose on Sunday between keeping far-right Bolsonaro, or returning to the leftist government by da Silva, who previously held office from 2003-2010.
Among the speakers during Friday's rally led by women was Simone Tebet, the Brazilian Democratic Movement's candidate who has backed da Silva since being eliminated in the first round of the election in third place.
Tebet said the former leader, universally known as Lula, would "rebuild" Brazil "with love and not with hatred".
Teacher Rose Cipriano said while Bolsonaro's unexpectedly strong performance in the first round had been a "negative surprise", she remained confident in da Silva's ability to win the runoff by broadening his coalition.
In the fiercely polarized country, many are simply voting against the candidate they despise.
On one hand, da Silva points to his track record improving Brazilians' livelihoods while president, and pledges to care for them again.
Bolsonaro, who appeals to religious conservatives, claims da Silva's return to power would usher in communism, legalized drugs and abortion.
In the first round of voting, da Silva's gained 48.4% of the vote to Bolsonaro's 43.2%.
