I’m on a roll and snuck onto first chair up Nakiska this season. This time it was thanks to some clever hot sauce bribery ;).
Nakiska is the 3rd ski resort to open in Western Canada this season. The energy was infectious and opening day delivered with the best turns I've had this year. The Gold chair was open allowing me to lap 452m of vert on a run called MapMaker. I also snuck into the Monster Glades for some pow turns, wacky tree skiing and a mountain meal.
Kananaskis is one of my favourite areas in the world and I’ve never seen it in winter. It blew my mind! Nothing is better than soaking up views of the rockies on skis. It was amazing to get back on my edges and I feel like I'm really starting to get my ski legs back.
Best of all, everyone I met had such an awesome energy. Huge shout out to all the amazing people I met and all of those working up at Nakiska, you all rock! Can’t wait to explore the whole ski area later this season.
