STORYLINE:
Wes Anderson returned to the Cannes Film Festival to premiere his star-studded homage to science fiction, "Asteroid City," on Tuesday (23 May 2023).

Tom Hanks joins a cast of Anderson regulars — including Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton and Edward Norton — for the tale of a junior stargazing convention that's spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

Scarlett Johansson - a member of Anderson's voice cast for animation "Isle of Dogs" - teams back up with the director to play Midge Campbell, a famous actor visiting Asteroid City for the convention.

Co-written with Roman Coppola, the film's cast also includes Steve Carell, Jeffrey Wright, Liev Schreiber, Margot Robbie, Willem Dafoe, Matt Dillon, Bryan Cranston and Hong Chau.
