This is based on a true story and project carried out by Eco Tiffin Ltd.
This was a large insurance claim due to a defective external pipe that caused serious dry rot to the property. Our client asked us to deal with the claim. Following all the lengthy and necessary protocols in proving the case with the insurer’s experts they eventually accepted liability under the policy terms and conditions. They also agreed alternative accommodation costs for 6 months. This was extremely important given the extent of the works and the disruption that would be caused.
Whilst the works were being carried out extensive structural problems were discovered where a complete first floor bedroom structure had to be removed together with the timber structural wall of the staircase to the 2nd floor. Additionally the decay was found to have affected the full length of the flank wall of the ground floor joists. All these additional costs were negotiated and agreed with insurers.
