From May 29 – June 1, 2020, the F.G. Gardiner Expressway in Toronto was closed for spring maintenance and improvements during the Covid-19 pandemic. Work zone safety this year meant doing everything we could to stop the spread of the terrible virus and keep workers and their families safe.
Most of the work was done on the west end of the expressway, including paving the on-ramp from Highway 427 to the eastbound Gardiner. A huge amount of work took place, and by completing it in just 54 hours over a single weekend, it saved approximately 30 separate closures.
