Sandy Chung, MD, FAAP, FACHE, is a primary care pediatrician, working parent, and child of immigrants growing up in poverty. She loves being a pediatrician and working with children and their families! As a lifelong advocate, her areas of focus include improving access to pediatric mental health care, using data to advance child health, strengthening the medical home including ensuring adequate payment, and supporting the pediatric specialist workforce. Having held over 30 leadership positions in healthcare including past president of the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she is honored to serve children, their families and pediatricians. She encourages those who care about children and who are interested in becoming a doctor to become a pediatrician - one of the best jobs in the world!
