So far, I've been very impressed with the receiver on the FT-710. The DNR can really help pull a signal out of the noise, but compared to other radios I've had, the noise floor is lower to start with.
This video shows tuning around 13MHZ where I have a large pulsing noise with a 9+20 signal. Turning on the noise blanker makes a significant difference, removing the pulse and leaving the background noise floor around S5. When you are listening to a station, the combination of NB, DNF and DNR makes a huge difference to a weak signal in the noise.
In case you were wondering, the frequency displayed is the broadcast aimed at Europe in English by the Voice of (North) Korea which has stopped broadcasting for the evening.
