This award is presented annually to recognize excellence in the integration and use of technology in world language instruction at the postsecondary level.
The 2021 recipient is Florencia Henshaw of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
“I am honored to be the recipient of the Postsecondary Award for Excellence in World Language Instruction Using Technology. Being recognized for something you are passionate about is truly special. I dedicate this award to all the educators who have maximized language learning using technology over the past year, despite seemingly endless challenges.
My deepest gratitude goes to the three wonderful colleagues who supported my nomination: Doctors Lauren Hetrovicz, Ann Abbott, and Claudia Fernández. I would also like to recognize the impact that Toni Theisen has had on my approach to technology integration. I am thankful for the many educators I have met through workshops and social media. I am humbled by your kind words of encouragement and appreciation. Last but not least, I am grateful for my support system, both human and canine.
Thank you, ACTFL, Cengage, IALLT, and the selection committee for this great honor.”
