Something interesting is happening in Finland – the automatisation of public transportation is taking its first steps. Finland is the first one in the world able to experiment with autonomous vehicles in urban conditions: there is an innovative interpretation of traffic law and the book of law doesn’t oblige the driver to be inside the vehicle.
The leading Finnish think tank Demos Helsinki, specialized on future studies and foresight, has established an Experiment Unit. Demos Helsinki is in response of planning and executing the mobility experiments. Top-level mobility laboratory from Metropolia is developing the technology.
