In Edmonton, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announces a $131 million investment aimed at reducing emissions and diversifying the province’s economy. The province will invest $100 million in 7 new projects through the Industrial Energy Efficiency and Carbon Capture Utilization program, and $31 million to support future initiatives. The premier is joined by provincial cabinet ministers Jason Nixon (environment and parks) and Travis Toews (finance), as well as Michael Belenkie, (president and COO of Advantage Energy), David Barva (executive vice-president of Tidewater Midstream) and Sim Younger (senior vice-president of Imperial). Joining the news conference remotely are Alvin Hubert (Saddle Hills County ward 4 councillor) and Rick Bower (chief technology officer of Entropy).
