Rishi Sunak avoided answering questions about Boris Johnson’s Partygate report hours before the verdict was due on Thursday, 15 June.
The prime minister refused to comment if Mr Johnson should be allowed to be an MP if the report officially found he misled Parliament over the Downing Street parties during lockdown.
“I can’t speculate”, the Conservative leader added.“It’s the House of Commons and Parliament that will decide the appropriate course of actions”.
It comes after the former prime minister resigned as an MP on Friday 9 June after receiving a copy of a report into whether he misled MPs over Partygate.
