The fisheries sector in Uganda could become the country’s leading foreign exchange earner if accorded necessary support from government.
State Minister for Fisheries Hellen Adoa wants fish preservation facilities and recommended fishing nets given priority in Uganda’s quest to benefit more from the sector.
This appeal comes in the wake of dwindling fish prices that fishing communities at Kagwara Landing Site in Serere District are crying foul over.
