Welcome to the Canadian International Air Show of 2024!

Presenting the United States Air Force (USAF) F-22 Raptor Demo Team making its first visit back to Toronto since 2017. The Raptor has always been a crowd favorite in Toronto ever since its first appearance here in 2006 so many were excited to see this bird tear it up over the skies of Lake Ontario once more.

The pilot for the demonstration was Capt. Samuel 'RAZZ' Larson in his second year with the Demo Team. 'RAZZ' is currently the only F-22 Demonstration Pilot in the world today and has over 750 hours flying the Raptor. The demonstration included the traditional maneuvers such as the ‘minimum radius turn, power loop and high speed pass’. What I found was that some maneuvers were left out such as the ‘dedication pass’ before the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage Flight occurred with the P-51 Mustang ‘Bald Eagle’ flown by Jim Beasley Jr.

For the show, and the main thing the crowd was hoping for was for flares and sure enough, flares did happen. Especially during the ‘power loop’. Incredible!
