A Side-by-Side Comparison between two latest 10” Kaleido 3 Color E-ink readers - BigMe InkNote Color+ and Boox Tab Ultra C
Comic Reading Scenario
Testing Enviroment:
Ambient lights in the room turned off.
Both devices at brightest setting.
Conclusion:
Brightness -
Bigme is brighter than Boox
Color Vibrancy and Saturation -
The color on Bigme looks paler in the video due to brighter screen.
Tuning down the brightness of Bigme will result in more or less the same color saturation and vibrancy as on Boox.
Page Turning Speed -
More or less the same
Image Clarity -
Bigme has a matte layer while Boox has a smooth glassy layer.
Images look a tiny bit grainy (or pixelated) on Bigme (You have to get really close to notice that)
Clarity is slightly better on Boox but screen glare would be an annoying problem.
Ghosting -
This is where Boox excels.
The dedicated GPU in Boox Tab Ultra C has really worked wonderfully well to remove ghosting between screen refreshes.
Full comparison will be available by the end of the week.
