This video is designed to work as an introduction to fitness for those just getting started. Specifically, it is aimed at those who want to get into shape without making it their entire personalty. Because I feel that, currently, fitness is being misrepresented online.
At the start of this video I demonstrate this hypothesis by searching “fitness” on Instagram. The result is countless photos of hugely enlarged female derrieres, and a bunch of photos of guys completely jacked up on PEDs. I don’t think either of these tings equate to fitness and I don’t think they are particularly helpful in terms of motivation or guidance. YouTube isn’t a lot better - with so much fitness content being aimed at people who want to look like Mr Olympia. Or having this insane grind mentality.
It IS possible to start getting into fitness WITHOUT having to make it your entire personality. Without getting completely carried away and taking silly shortcuts. While keeping your sanity intact.
I hope that this video can serve as an introduction to fitness for NORMAL people. Offering some basic advice and starting points and some warnings about the challenges that you might face along the way - especially in the age of social media.
