Jason underwent a previous ACL surgery where the surgeon removed portions of both the medial and lateral meniscus. This, unfortunately, happens often and leads to patients developing instability and pain within their knee as a result of missing the key shock absorbers and stabilizers that the meniscus provides. Fortunately, Jason came to us in time before his injury progressed to full bone-on-bone arthritis, which allowed Dr. Stone to replace Jason's meniscus and help him avoid artificial knee replacement. Jason received a double meniscus transplant in his knee and is now a year out from surgery, doing great and will make a full return to sports with a healthy knee.
