Hey newer CW Ops.. ya think you'll freak out when you're in a QSO and your paddles start 'dropping dits' at random? I guess you could scramble for paper and alcohol in the middle of your QSO to clean your contacts.. or you can do this.
You can also skip my story and go to the hint. lol 03:30
Please note:
All electrical switches, and I mean ALL of them use a 'wiping' motion between the two contacts. This is 'self-cleaning' of contacts. Otherwise, a single speck of dust could prevent electrical closure. Our paddles do not however wipe- and this is why the contacts get 'wonky' so quickly.
Catch ya later guys...
Chuck
