Bonus episode for the Satanic Panic Reconsidered series: Country Walk - The Nightmarish Frank Fuster.
Despite the fact that Frank Fuster is a convicted killer, multi-time felon, admitted child molester, and is serving what is effectively a life sentence for massive child abuse at the Country Walk daycare, journalists from a number of "respected" publications plea for his release. They decry Fuster's conviction as an example of the "Satanic Panic" or hysteria or witch-hunt or you pick the term during the 1980s. They do this by lumping together a series of cases not technically even related to one another and try to say that grave injustices were done in either thousands or hundreds of cases. These claims are factually and provable incorrect.
Fuster abused one of his wives, Ileana Flores (Fuster) when he was in his mid-30s and she was but a child of 14 or 15 per her own account. This is also ignored and/or downplayed by the crafters of the Satanic Panic mythos. Fuster's abuses and crimes are legion, yet he has defenders from PBS, the National Review, and several journalists, academics, and others who should know better.
