Ghulam Sadiq, 18, was stabbed to death near High Road, Leytonstone, Waltham Forest, on the afternoon of 6 August 2022.
The killer, 17-year-old Emadh Miah, had travelled to London from Solihull and was seen riding a bicycle around the Leytonstone area before the attack. This CCTV footage shows Miah arriving by bicycle and waiting in the cul-de-sac near Ghulam's home. When Ghulam arrived by bike, Miah chased him and stabbed him in the back. The footage does not show the stabbing itself.
Police said Miah had carefully planned the attack, including buying two "zombie" knives online to be delivered to his home in Solihull. However detectives were not able to conclusively identify the motive for the stabbing.
Miah was convicted of murder in April 2023 and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 19 years before parole.
