Join us on the second video in our series documenting our Barn conversion project here on the mid-Norfolk farm as we undertake the conversion of this 200-year-old agricultural barn into a new summer kitchen and boot room. The West end of the attached red brick and pantile barn had previously been converted into the north wing extension of the Tudor cottage which is the original building on the site and now joins the barn to the main early Victorian Farm House.
The main barn has now been fully felted and the new batons fixed, red reclaimed and stored clay pantiles are being lifted up onto the scaffolding ready to be replaced next week. This roof could be completed in the next 5 working days if the weather is kind. Not something you can assume when building during an English winter.
The build has now completed its first fix electrics and plumbers have been onsite Friday removing the large cast iron radiators from the Garden room which will be knocked through this week
Internally the roof insulation is now nearly complete and more insulation is ready to be placed in the external walls
