In June of 2011, 150 kids and teens with type 1 diabetes visited Washington, D.C. to ask legislators to continue to fund diabetes research through the Special Diabetes Program. Another panel including actor Kevin Kline and JDRF's Dr. Aaron Kowalski testified to urge the FDA to issue guidance for artificial pancreas technologies.
