In its Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the European Commission proposes to transform at least 30% of Europe's land and sea into effectively managed protected areas. Biodiversity will also receive greater attention at the international level, so how can the EU ensure that Indigenous Peoples and local communities are involved and that their rights are enshrined in new biodiversity measures?
This conference will bring together representatives of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in Africa, Asia, Russia and Latin America, NGOs, European Commission officials, and MEPs.
