Hey guys! I finally got around to building a hi-start launcher for my little blue glider (which I’ve come to call the Bluebird). I decided to start small, using only around 20’ of line, and a few feet of flight rubber (FAI Tan Supersport 1/8”) for tension. I found however, that the power curve of the rubber is far too extreme, resulting in a much too high launch velocity and expending all the stored energy within under a second. So I will try to find some other elastic material for providing tension in the system. I am, however, quite satisfied with the result so far, and plan to make more hi-start gliders in the future.
