Jon Mirsalis has been a friend to the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum since its beginnings, and in segment one of his interview conducted on January 8th, 2016, he discusses the nature of film collections and their collectors, as well as discovering the previously lost reel of the Laurel and Hardy film "Battle of the Century."
Jon Mirsalis is a noted film accompanist, collector, and preservationist, in addition to having a P.H.D. in genetics and toxicology. He plays regularly at our Saturday night shows, and even makes his own movie trailers for these screenings on his YouTube channel:
