If you are a veteran with sleep apnea that is secondary to your PTSD, you may be eligible for veterans benefits. In order to get service connection for your sleep apnea, you will need to establish a nexus between the two conditions. This means providing the VA with evidence that your sleep apnea is the result of your PTSD.
There are a few ways to do this. One way is to provide a statement from yourself or a doctor explaining how your PTSD has caused or aggravated your sleep apnea. Another way is to show that your PTSD symptoms are interfering with your ability to get proper rest, which in turn is causing or aggravating your sleep apnea.
