Here you will find an introduction, review and tipps for the classic role-playing game Pillars of Eternity (including the DLC The White March)
It was developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive on PC in 2015. A unique Kickstarter campaign collected record breaking funds to realise this project with more than 77.000 backers.

The game is a successor to epic games like Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 or Icewind Dale 1 and 2 and recreates the classic Infinity-engine look and feel. Pillars of Eternity creates a high-fantasy world, features great storytelling and the classic party of six. The player outfits the heroes (or villains, depending on the playstyle) and constantly makes game-changing choices. Thus the player builds a reputation, makes friends, allies and enemies, conquers a fortress to call home and unravels a great mystery and a grand secret.

The game contains turn-based and party-based tactical combat, a very strong narrative, complex and original characters and numerous quests, tasks and items to outfint the characters.

The game was very well received and won numerous awards, amongst others the Global Game Awards as Best RPG or the PC Gamer's Spirit of the PC Award.

In this video I will introduce the game, create a main character and play first phase of the game. I will also give advice on how to create an effective party and after some spoiler warnings will give further tipps for optimized gameplay.

I recommend this game, although I would not rate is in the 90/100 like most of the gaming sites, but rather as a very good game of 82/100. If you like an excellent story, tactical turned based combat and a classic rich fantasy world then this is definitely for you.
