Shaking off the last vestiges of 2017 I sit down to review the book that has been challenging my commitment to all things since 2004!

The Eye of the World tells the story of Rand al'Thor and his villager mates as they go on an epic cross-country road trip with a hunky swordsman, a blue power ranger, a singing Gandalf type and their local physician to escape the clutches of an awkwardly named group of bad people and give the middle to Freddy Krueger.

All of that summary is nonsense but none of it is a lie. Make of that what you will...
