Why Was Mace Windu Terrified Of Dueling General Grievous?
Mace Windu was one of if not the most powerful Jedi of the Clone Wars era. This was in large part due to his unusually aggressive lightsaber form known as Vapad which he had developed himself. Vapad allowed its wielder to channel their inner darkness, using a great deal of force energy in the process. However, when Mace dueled Grievous, he noticed that the cyborg was able to mimic Vapad, despite never coming into contact with this lightsaber style before and not being force sensitive. Terrified that the cyborg may learn this highly aggressive form, Mace broke off the duel with this being one of the reasons he did not face him on utapau.
