DAYTON -- There are new developments in the search for missing mother Nichelle McKnight and her four year old son Zaden.
Dayton Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol and a helicopter were seen actively searching for the pair along the Stillwater River Trail off of Shoup Mill Road Thursday.
Investigators say Nichelle McKnight was dating 26 year old Antwan Anderson, who took his own life during a chase with police. Police had been looking for him in connection to Nichelle and Zaden's disappearance.
The location of Thrusday's search isn't far from where Nichelle and Zaden were last seen, at their home on Homewood Avenue.
Police have confirmed electronic evidence exists that links Anderson and a second suspect Tonisha Harris to Nichelle and Zaden's disappearance.
"Look at this it's a park- people walk. My wife's been coming here for the past three years walking and you wouldn't ever think you'd see something like that," said DJ McDaniel about the police presence along the bike trail Thursday afternoon.
Police are continuing to search, but aerial search has been called off.
