The San Francisco Bay Area-- what's the good and the bad of living here?! Maybe you're thinking of moving here and want to get a better feel for the area, from someone who actually lives here!

I've lived in the Bay Area, CA for 20 years and 16 of those in the East Bay-- don't worry, I'll show you a map so you know where I'm talking about! I'm sharing my honest opinions, as as much as I think this area is incredible (and my favorite part of the country), it's not all positive. It was hard keeping the “pros” to only five things, but top of my list is:

All of the world class destinations surrounding us. There’s so much to do, from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe, to wine tasting in Napa!

Number two is the amount of space and nature we have, even though we’re thus close do several major metropolitan areas (SF, Oakland, San Jose).

Number three is the incredible weather (we love to talk about how great our weather is!).

Top of the list of “cons” is how expensive it is to live in the Bay Area. Some things will cost the same no matter where you are, like a car, but housing will definitely take up a bigger part of your income.
