Khuushuur is a meat pastry or dumpling popular in Mongolia that is relatively similar to Russian and other cuisines.
Minced meat is mixed with onions and garlic and some other spices. We can also add some veggies, which I did in my video. But the traditional Khushuur is plane onions and garlic stuffing with some cumin powder, salt and pepper.
Flour & eggs are mixed to make the dough, mostly whole wheat flour is used and we can also use multigrain flour. Dough is kneaded to be very soft and made it small portions of rounds are rolled out like pastry roll or Roti's. Roti's are rolled bit thicker and half the roti is stuffed with the mince and other half is rolled over and ends need to be tightly sealed. There are many methods to seal the ends, but I used fork and pressed the ends to close properly. Traditional Khuushuur you will see they use folding method like other dumpling recipe.
Khushuur is done in two ways, fried or steamed. But fried are very famous in Mongolia.Hope you guys enjoy the video, and I have prepared may recipe to the best of my knowledge and skills. Thank you guy!!!!
