Janet Lynn, a Rockford Guilford graduate, was a five-time U.S. Figure Skating champion and two-time Olympian, winning a Bronze Medal at the 1972 Olympic Games in Sapporo, Japan. When she finally turned professional, Janet was the highest paid female athlete in the world.
She returned to Rockford on June 10 to talk about her skating career, the evolution of ice skating and other thoughts from a career that took her around the world. There will be a question-and-answer session after her talk and a chance to meet one of Rockford’s greatest ambassadors.
