When you have a dirty cutting mat, it can be more difficult to get your material to stick to it properly. With a little dawn dish soap and some elbow grease you can remove some of the residue preventing a good stick and make the surface sticky again. Note - this will not make your mat brand new, but it will help breath some new life into it so you can get some more uses out of it.
